Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, on Monday inaugurated Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages’ (HCCB) state-of-the-art greenfield factory at Banda Thimmapur in Siddipet, marking a significant milestone for one of India’s leading FMCG companies.

The inauguration was attended by key dignitaries including Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications; Industries & Commerce and Legislative Affairs; Ponnam Prabhakar Minister of Transport and BC Welfare and Konda Surekha, Forests & Environment and Science & Technology alongside Juan Pablo Rodriguez, CEO of HCCB, and other senior leaders from the company.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, "HCCB’s investment in Banda Thimmapur, underscores Telangana’s appeal as a hub for global industrial investments. We are committed to creating an enabling environment for business growth. We commend HCCB for its holistic approach, which will bring jobs, uplift communities, and contribute significantly to the region’s development."

Sridhar Babu added, "HCCB’s investment in Banda Thimmapur is a prime example of how industrial growth and sustainability go hand in hand. This greenfield factory is a major addition to Telangana’s industrial landscape and will ensure sustainable growth and prosperity for the region.”

Ponnam Prabhakar stated, “This greenfield facility in Banda Thimmapur exemplifies the synergy between industrial progress and community development. By generating skilled employment and integrating with initiatives that empower youth, women, and rural communities, this investment strengthens Telangana’s position as a hub for sustainable and inclusive growth.”

Konda Surekha said, “This is a great example of sustainable industrial growth. By integrating eco-friendly technologies like renewable energy and water reuse, this factory sets a standard for environmentally responsible manufacturing in Telangana.”

Speaking about the investment, Juan Pablo Rodriguez said, "This is a significant step in HCCB’s growth journey and a reaffirmation of our commitment to Telangana. This state-of-the-art factory combines advanced manufacturing technology with sustainable practices, positioning it as a benchmark in our industry. It was heartening to see the way this government especially the Chief Minister and the Industry Minister took the initiative to facilitate quick approvals for tapping point connection, completion of the long pending dedicated surface water pipeline through Mission Bhagiratha and also power availability for our factory operations. This has enabled us to commence our production at this new green factory despite several challenges on the ground.”

The factory, built on 49 acres, has a total planned investment of Rs2,091 crore ($251 million) out of which Rs1,409 crore ($170 million) has already been utilised for the current phase. The facility operates 7 advanced production lines and is poised to generate direct and indirect employment for 410 individuals.

This is HCCB's second factory in Telangana, complementing its existing factory in Ameenpur, Sangareddy District. Together, they underline HCCB’s substantial and growing presence in Telangana, with a combined investment of Rs3,798 Crores ($455.5 million) and employment for over 1,000 individuals. HCCB also has a robust network of close to 1,80,000 retailers in the State, further solidifying its role as a key driver of economic growth.

The new factory in Banda Thimmapur has been thoughtfully designed to integrate advanced technologies and environmentally conscious practices. From automated systems that enhance operational efficiency to renewable energy initiatives, it prioritises reducing its environmental footprint. Additional measures, including eco-friendly cooling systems, water reuse practices, and cleaner energy solutions, reflect HCCB’s dedication to operating responsibly. This factory represents a significant step in HCCB’s efforts to align business growth with community and environmental well-being, contributing positively to the region’s progress.

Driving Positive Change

HCCB continues to drive transformative change through a range of community development programs in Telangana, creating long-term benefits for the state. The company’s initiatives have impacted over 1,73,000 beneficiaries, including the training of youth in sales and marketing skills, and the empowerment of women through digital and financial literacy programs. HCCB has also improved access to clean water and education with the installation of Water ATMs and smartboards in schools.

Additionally, the company’s efforts in sustainable agriculture, sanitation, and health have significantly benefited thousands of families. HCCB has also established strategic partnerships to drive sustainable development in Telangana. This includes a collaboration with TASK through the ‘Corporate to Campus’ program, aimed at training 10,000 college students, with an impressive 70 per cent participation from rural areas.

HCCB has signed an MoU with the Government of Telangana to undertake long-term initiatives in water management, waste management, and skill-building. These comprehensive efforts highlight HCCB’s commitment towards sustainable growth and creating meaningful impact for the community.
